Eyes and Names

I went to the eye dr tonight. I've been having some trouble seeing for a while, but I'm cheap and so I wanted to wait until I was out of contacts before going back. I was hoping that she would just have to up my strength, but no, my astigmatism has gotten worse so I've got to get the special weighted contacts that cost $20 more than the regular ones and on top of that my eyes are now 2 different prescriptions so I automatically have to buy 2 boxes!! BAH!

I feel like I should have some cool things to say about Emery and what she is saying and doing, but I can't think of anything specific so I'll just say she's pretty rad.

I think we've come up with a name...I really plan on sticking with it this time. I've said it around the house like a billion times and I still like it. I've also convinced Ryan that he really likes it too.  :)

I had the 24 hour flu again on my birthday. There's nothing like waking up in the middle of the night and barely making it to the bathroom to barf. It's really amazing how crappy you can feel one day and the next day feel back to normal.

Surprise!

This weekend (Friday and Saturday) we were up at my parent's house in KC for our traditional birthday get-together. Emery had been asking to go to grandma's house for a few weeks now so she was super pumped to go. We had a really great time hanging out. We ate at Carrabba's for dinner and Emery even ate some calamari. She's such a picky eater that I couldn't believe when she asked to try some.

We also (after a few months of discussion and heavy thinking) decided to trade in our Chevy Trailblazer for this

a 2011 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4. And it's blue, not silver. And the best news is our payment is lower! Woohoo! It's super nice and we really like it so far. No complaints here!

For those of you who know me well, know that I am in LOVE on the verge of OBSESSED with Chaco shoes. So, I've been  eye-ing this new pair that they just came out with recently and guess who's getting these for her birthday?!?!

Me...that's who! Thank you to the best husband I could ask for!!

And for the biggest surprise of all.....! When we got home tonight around 8pm our house was a VERY chilly 54 degrees. Sometime in the 2 days we were gone the furnace had stopped working. Ryan called our landlord and he came out with a furnace guy and he got it working for about 20 minutes, then it stopped again. So Ryan called him back and he brought us a space heater and we set up the pack-n-play in our room so we're having a sleepover in our room tonight! Although Emery has already fallen asleep so I guess it's her bra Ryan and I will be freezing. They're coming back out tomorrow to fix it for real. I am really thankful that our landlord was so willing to come right out and then come back out to bring us a space heater after the "quick fix" didn't work. 

I think that's a pretty accurate recap of my weekend. I hope yours was just as great.

...And NOTHING happens!!

So we are about halfway, maybe a little more into Season 1 (Lost). And the first few episodes were really intriguing...but I've noticed that several episodes go by and NOTHING happens! It's like a soap for nighttime viewers. Granted, we're still watching, because really, we want to know what happens and how there can be so many seasons. At this point we're not giving up.

This week is also week 30. I am so over being pregnant, but 10 weeks sounds so close. We're really on the homestretch now. With that, I am getting concerned/stressed about Emery not even interested in potty training and also moving her to a real bed. I lovelovelove the crib now because even if she doesn't fall asleep during nap time, she at least is in her crib resting. I don't know too much about potty training, but I do know that I'm going to start gathering info on it. I also know that it's really futile until she wants to do it.

I have nothing else new to say.

Lost

Ryan and I have decided to see what all the hype is about. We've started watching Lost on Netflix. We're only on Season 1 episode 3, but so far, I am intrigued.

Not a whole lot new goin' on in the Mac house minus a 24 hour bug that hit Ryan and I (2 days after Emery had it) that included lots of barfing. Ryan lost 5 pounds and I lost 6. We were pretty dog-gone sick. Thankfully, my mom's school was canceled Thursday, so her and dad loaded up and made a day trip down here to play and take care of Emery for the day. It was such a huge relief because there was no way I was going to be able to keep up with her being sick AND pregnant AND with Ryan also being sick. I am so grateful for my parents and their willingness to basically drop everything, drive 3 hours one way for just half a day really.

We have also (pretty much) decided that baby girl's name should be Addie Louise.
I would also like to add that we are registered at Babies R Us...if you're so inclined.

Name Change??

So for a while now I've been feeling a little unsure about the name we picked out for baby Mac #2... We still want Louise for her middle name. We have an idea of what we want to change it to, but I don't know that I'm going to share it just now.

I don't mind suggestions...here or on my FB wall.
